Aspire Learning was founded by a former public school teacher and collegiate soccer player who understands the real-life demands students face as they balance academics with extracurricular activities, personal goals, family commitments, and busy schedules. After experiencing firsthand how challenging it can be to pursue excellence both inside and outside the classroom, our founder created Aspire Learning to offer students a more flexible, supportive, and purposeful path to success.
At Aspire Learning, we believe students shouldn’t have to fit into a one-size-fits-all model of education. Our flexible online program delivers rigorous, student-centered instruction designed to meet learners where they are—whether they are athletes, artists, entrepreneurs, performers, or simply students who thrive outside a traditional school setting.

Mckel Gurney
Executive Director
Mrs. Gurney has a background in public education and collegiate athletics, bringing a strong commitment to student development. She is dedicated to fostering lifelong learners who engage in their education and make meaningful contributions to society. Outside the classroom, she enjoys anything in the outdoors with her family.
Shaylee Barfuss
Chair
Miss Barfuss is a dedicated educator with a passion for both teaching and athletics. With a background in softball and basketball, she understands the balance and demands of academics and sports, and is committed to supporting students in both areas. Outside the classroom, she enjoys life as a proud dog mom to her golden doodle, Duke.
Ashley Morgan
Vice Chair
Mrs. Morgan is a dedicated educator who is passionate about challenging and advancing student learning. She is committed to helping students reach their full potential through engaging and purposeful instruction. Outside of the classroom, she is a proud mother of three and enjoys staying active by playing pickleball.
Katie Wall
Treasurer
Mrs. Wall is an experienced event manager with exceptional organizational skills and a passion for creating memorable experiences. She brings creativity and attention to detail to everything she does, both professionally and personally. Outside of her work, she enjoys crafting and is a proud dog mom to Mater and Banjo.
Whitney Winsor
Secretary
Miss Winsor is a dedicated school counselor who is passionate about helping students reach their fullest potential. A strong advocate for a growth mindset, she supports students in building confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. Outside of her work, she is a proud mother of three daughters and three dogs, and enjoys spending time outdoors in the mountains or by the lake.
